Motorcycle Online talked about it in their '06 Open shootout.  They said
it was like the Honda and the Kawi had swapped identities...  I let my
subscription lapse, so I can't copy and paste the text for you (that and
the fact that last time I did I got a nasty letter from them telling me
not to do it anymore)

I'm sure you can find test reports on the 2006 that talk about the
changes they made to the motor to tame the power delivery. I think they
put a heavier crank in there among other tweaks. The ergos are sportier
than the 04/50 though which I found to be pretty good.
