Re: [ST] Move MotoGP East (long)

Laguna Seca has very few club races, mostly because of noise limits and high cost. As far as I can remember there has not been a club race at Laguna in years. Track days are also expensive, but everybody that goes loves it. But then track day guys always love it, no matter where.

I feel that MotoGP should run on a variety of tracks; fast, slow, long and short.
I try to watch all the races. I don't recall every hearing anybody say "this track is easy to pass on". I have heard "its hard to pass" a million times. I figure if you are not faster then the other guy, it is going to be hell to pass anywhere. Ross, of coarse, made plenty of passes. Hayden passed two; Pedrosa made 4 or 5 passes, including swapping back and forth with Melandri. Checa was 13th on the first lap but finished 7th. All in all about the normal amount of passing.
At Laguna passes are commonly made going into the Corkscrew, a very daring place. Turn 11, and 2 are standard slow corners after fast sections with passing on the brakes. Turn 5 is fast, but has some passing, also turn 6 if somebody gets a poor drive out of 5. Laguna is a unique track because of the large elevation changes.

I would love to see MotoGP at Road America, where they would easily hit 200mph. Barber is about the same length as Laguna. Miller is in Salt Lake City, if they had a hot day Laguna would look like the North Pole. Also Miller is too new, they have not really finished building it.

A lot of people like Nascar, so what.
A lot of people like soccer, does that bother you?
Nascar gets a lot of TV because a lot of people like it. TV broadcasts tons of stuff I could care less about (So you think you can dance; Pinks; Basketball, Survivor, Hockey, .......)
Because of Nascar, Sear Point Raceway is a much much better place to watch AMA Superbikes.
