You have this whole dry thing in salt lake city a little wrong, We have plenty of bars and clubs here, with liquor laws that are about average for the country, srving till 1am clubs close at 2am and beer but no liquor sales on sundays.  And pretty much any other vice you would like to find here is easly found.  Otherwise large events like sundance film festival and outdoor retailers convention among others would be pretty boring.  I do not think the event here would have a lot of local attendance though.  It would be mostly out of state visitors.  The city also has a huge hotel room capacity, because of all the big conventions we get here.
