Re: [ST] ck eng light 03 ST and fuel?

When my fuel sender went bad a couple weeks (months?) ago, it was a
similar scenario, except that I had a half-tank of gas in the bike.
Check engine light came on at the same time as the low fuel light, and
the fuel gage dropped to 0. However, it doesn't sound like that's what
your problem is. I assume the fuel gage went to full and the low fuel
light turned off when you filled up... If its any consolation, my check
engine light turned off after the 3 cycles, even though the sender
continued to be faulty. Sender was replaced under warrantee.

Ok - I recall that if the battery is disconnected the ck eng light will
come on and it will take 3 heat/cool cycles to clear it, but I was
running on reserve and as I came into the gas station, the ck eng light
came on. I am thinking the ECU thought I had run out of gas, which I
hadn't (but was close to). Has this happened to anyone else? Will the
tried and true method of 3 heat/cool cycles clear this as well or do I
have to get it reset? Any other possible issues I should think about?

Thanks,

Jonathan
