    Actually, the worst damage done by frame sliders is usually in a tip over of a stationary bike, due to the angle of the impact and the full weight of the bike landing on the slider.  The greater the speed, the more of a glancing blow the slider receives.  To demonstrate this for yourself, don your protective gear and run as fast as you can through the house and out the front door, jumping over the steps, landing on the sidewalk and sliding to a stop.  Note the sensations, including pain, you experience.  Now climb up on your roof and jump off, falling straight down to the pavement.  Feel the difference?
