Re: [ST] Cleaning Brake Calipers (was: some kind of berger)

I went through the procedure today.

Take one caliper off.

Remove the pads.

Hold two of the opposing pistons apart with a small block and squeeze the
front brake lever.

When you're squeezing the pistons out, do it carefully and dont go to far.

If you do the piston will pop out and you will be wearing brake fluid and
watching it pour onto the floor and swearing your head off while you grab the
piston to put it back in and pray that it didnt get onto something critical...

Clean the pistons carefully with appropriate brake cleaner. Repeat for the
other two in the same caliper and again for the other side. Replace the cleaned
caliper before attempting the other side.

Hope this helps and you wont be faced with a walk to the nearest bike shop
first thing in the morning to get some brake fluid so you can bleed the system
to make it work again to see if the cleaning worked.

Brett.
