This is pure speculation, but did anyone check the old battery to see if it
truly was bad?  It could be a charging/voltage regulation type of thing.  At
low RPM's you may not have enough power from the alternator to keep things
alive.  Another possibility is that the idle setting in the ECU might have
gotten wacked when the battery went flat.  Kinda sounds like it may need
some time at the local dealer with a gameboy.
