If you have too much air the tire does NOT get hot.
If you have low air pressure, the tire flexes and gets too hot.
So after riding, if the pressure is high == temperture is high
ADD air, so your cold pressure is higher.

So you are correct, we are NOT saying the samething.
High pressure runs cooler.
