[ST] Front parking light wires

When dis-assembling the faring on my '03 sprint to repair some accident damage I
decided to replace the front parking light bulb as it had blown.  

Now there are 4 wires going into the parking light fitting, or there is supposed
to be.  The two that power the bulb I can understand, but what the hell do the
other two do?  They seem to go into some small plastic junction that serves no
purpose.  Anyway, long story short these wires simply fell out of this plastic
junction 'thingy' and there seems to be no way to put them back in there. 
Everything works fine without them so I left it at that, does anyone know what
these wires do or whether in fact they are needed?  I did the 'sniff' test after
running the bike for a while and could not smell anything cooking in there.  The
manual (that comes with the bike) does not mention these mysterious wires...
