Re: [ST] Motul products

Thanks Rod- makes sense to me.

here's another brake related question: (aaaaargh -potential brake thread!)

I've been told by more than one person that its a good idea to first "back bleed" brakes by forcing the calipers open and closed using something like two screwdrivers, before bleeding the fluid via the bleed valves.

The way it was explained to me goes like this:
back bleeding forces more fluid past the connection points of the brake lines to the brakes, so is more likely to clear air trapped at those points. It also should get rid of any "sticky" points on the calipers.

The downside is that you might get the reservoir overflowing if its too full.

Then you bleed normally, starting with the left set then the right to get any air out.

If there are cold beers to spare at that point then maybe taking the pads out and cleaning the exposed part of the calipers is an option, but that sounds like a mission to me!

Have I got this straight?

cheers
