You know the visible thing is what I go on too, but reading the Web site of the maker of the EZpass, it is based upon an exchange of info via radio frequency therefore not nec needing to be visible. But the UP indicating arrows on the unit imply that a correct orientation is needed. I dunno, I still go with it being visible. 
   
  My old one would work in the glove box of the car, but that was a Transpass and not the EZpass system.

I put it inside the double-bubble when I had one. I haven't really thought
of another good place to leave on the bike. I believe it needs to be
visible (have never had it work without being visible).
