Well, from personal experience (a good friend of mine), I know in
Oregon that there's no provision for running a red light, even if
it's defective.

I was set to challenge my ticket for a left on red (did I say my?
I meant my friend) with a videotape sitting through 3 cycles of
that light until an SUV pulled up to trigger it.  Even this would
not pass muster here.  You have to back up and proceed through
and make a 'legal' U-turn (whatever that is).

The ticket was dismissed the day before the trial, I believe
because the officer did not want to appear and knew that I would
be there anyway.

I think that's the legal way to do it.  Sitting through two
cycles of
the light.  At least in NH.

Yeah I have that problem too.  Wait 10 minutes though? NOT.  At
the
second light cycle, if the coast is clear, I blow the light and
continue
on my way.
