Re: [ST] Unadulterated Power

lol - you are right - the power on those machines is something else, and very addictive. I just don't know that I would be able to keep my license with that kind of power on tap. To row through the gears, you have to be going over a ton. Sorry Mister Officer (already had to say that four times on the Dragon RAID trip with the ST. Got a verbal warning in Virginia, a verbal warning in North Carolina, a written warning for speeding and double-yellow passing in Tennessee, and got an actual ticket from a Federal Ranger on the Blue Ridge Parkway for speeding - Mike Puig got the ranger to drop the double-yellow pass infraction there, "I thought the line was broken where we passed...??")....

More power on tap would probably land me jail very quickly.

You hit the nail on the head, at least for me.

For me I enjoy the track, but I also love that pure, raw, unadulterated acceleration and power. Just to know that I have the ability to power wheelie in third gives me that sense of power. <grunt> <grunt> <grunt>

Granted, my RS has good acceleration which I've needed from time to time. But after demo riding an R1 at bike week this year, I was shocked at the difference. It made my RS feel like my kid's CRF50 ;-)

<SNIP>
... Of course, if more fun is even harder acceleration, or feeling faster on a steed like that, then the R1 is the ticket.
