Just to state the obvious, Mobil color codes their caps for the different
types they sell.  They may have created Gold just to market something new
because Red has been around so long. I'd bet there isn't much difference
other than the bottle. Don't know if the links still exist, and I personally
don't care, but you used to be able to get all the technical characteristics
of oils on the web and compare them.  When I did that several years ago
there was no difference between Red cap and the bike specific stuff (don't
remember whether it was 4T Racing or MX4T stuff).
