[ST] Rear disc crack

When I took off the rear wheel for a new tyre, noticed the (original) rear disc had a crack right through the disc, from the outer hole to the rim, and a similar fracture on the opposite side - so two small ones on the same disc.
Have ordered a new disc & pads.
As it is only about two months out of warranty, I'll try and see what Triumph say.
Has anybody else had this problem?
Does anyone have any ideas how it might have happened?
