[ST] Dirt stuff

A friend lent me his spare enduro bike on Saturday. I had a blast and rode
much better than I thought I would , its been a loooong time since I rode an
off-road bike.

His 05 CRF250F works well, the four stroke is easy to ride, and electric
start is a bonus! You don't need more power and its great riding something
so light. You cant believe how much power these new four stroke scramblers
make.

We spent hours riding on the farm belonging to the family that owns Andrag ,
at Chatsworth up the Weast Coast of Cape Town. What a place, there are
endless trails from sand to rocks to small moutntains to clay to dam walls.

Those guys live in paradise, I cant beleive so much land can belong to one
family!

We rode between trees, jumped anything we could find and did a high speed
blast over the soft sand under the electric pylons etc, an absolute blast. I
only really struggled with the very soft sand, even in the mud I was OK. I
got planted a few times, but had a hoot.

If I had some spare cash I'd look for a 250 enduro, maybe next year.

On Sunday I took an early short 100km spin on my Daytona through to Darling
on the Dassiesfontein road , which was fun except I got whacked by a bird on
my shoulder at 150, bloody sore!

Lucky I was wearing my leathers -there was a whack and a cloud of feathers.
For a while I thought I'd broken something in my shoulder.

cheers
