Hello Gary.
I have Philips Vision plus 50 (white not bule) bulbs ( 55/60watt) they are great - Dont get hot, but my mates complain if I am behind them, even on low beam as they say they are so bright. They are a huge improvment on OEM bulbs with no down side.
