Re: [ST] Philips V+ 50

I did a HID replacement on my wife's Mercedes using factory parts. Quite $pendy. ($600 "buy it now" on e-bay from a place in New Jersey for the parts alone, but it included new headlight buckets and lenses.) The dealer was wanting over $2000 for the same parts. They are work really well. The color temp takes a little time to get used to, but the clarity of the beam is amazing. The bulbs are supposed to out last the car, but that remains to be seen.

Cheers Harry,

The 05 has the two prong H7's and they are bloody expensive.

I'm looking at a couple of options to improve things. There seems to be some
support for a HID kit with balast to replace the center globe. So far every
website I've found listing them shows them to be quite expensive.

Has anyone had any experience with these? Are they worth the effort and
expense?

Brett.
