Well, that changes things a bit. Spend the money and get a good set
of hardened impact grade torx bits. I can't tell you how many
non-forged/non- hardened bits I have distorted, rounded and otherwise
ruined trying to undo bolts.
The 50 is big enough that you should probably consider getting it in
a 1/2 drive set (preferably with the anti tamper dimple in the end).
This is not for the drain plug but for when you need it for other T50 bolts.

As for the filter, I bought a three finger wrench for the one on my
honda and found out that it handles every other oil filter I have
from the coffee can sized one that is in my mustang all the way down
to the fits in a tomato paste can sized one on my nissan pathfinder
(amazingly enough the honda filter for its 800cc motor is larger than
the nissan's 3.3l v6). There are no worries about it slipping since
the three fingers dig in when you apply torque to loosen the filter,
infact it will even start to crush the can of the filter as opposed
to slipping. It doesn't matter what the pattern of flutes, flats,
dimples or ridges the filters has for gripping this tool will grab
and twist off the filter. It only loosens them which is fine since
you should only be hand tightening the filter when you install it (I
do use a bottle gripper pad to tighten all my filters). I can't
remember where I got it, but I can probably scare up a picture for you.
