Re: [ST] ST air filter replacement

Assuming that your 02 has the same airbox as my 01, there will be four screws on the top of the airbox that permits you to remove only the airfilter cartridge. The entire airbox can be removed by disconnecting the various hoses and sensors and the two screws holding the metal plate to on the lower left of the airbox.

As to the fuel fittings flowing fuel during disconnection, every time I have removed my tank I have fuel flowing from the new fittings. I usually prepare for it by wrapping the connectors with a rag to capture most of the fuel.

Installation of the tank during reassembly can be tricky, at least on mine, some force to compress the rubber grommets is required to get the screws to line up properly. It looks as though the snug fit provides tension to minimize the tank for moving. Also, be careful not to pinch any hoses with the tank.
