Bare hand and it didn't even get warm.
coin was cupro-nickel which isn't a bad conductor and about 1.5mm thick.
Wires feeding the solenoid look much thicker but allow for the insulation and 
the fact they're braided and not solid, the coin isn't all that much thinner 
than the wire.
Also contact time should only need to be a couple of seconds unless there's 
another problem!

I didn't ever do the coin trick on the ST, but I did push start it a couple of 
times with no problems, and jump-started it from a car once with no problem. 
Fuel injection should make no difference for push-starting as long as the 
battery has enough power to pressurise the system. Vehicles with catalytic 
convertors should not be push-started as there's a risk of unburnt fuel 
entering the exhaust and igniting (aka backfiring!) which damages the 
catalyst.
