I use the same ROK straps that you have, Todd.
I think they're better than the Helen TwoWheels straps, unless you're
using her 3-bag pyramid stacking system (where her simple loop-end
web straps probably work. The ROK straps seem to work better than
anything else I've tried on odd-shaped articles that need more than a
bungee web.
I didn't have the ROKs prior to selling my RS. I use the rear rack
and passenger footpeg mount as attachment points on my V-Strom, but
that doesn't help you much...
