That's right Marc,
The guy of tuneboy, Wayne Dalton I think explains the procedure pretty well.

You can notice that w/ or w/o O2 sensor is not the same story.

You let the ecu adjust itself as explained and then you adjust a bit.
The symptom of mine was:
To downshift, I usually clutch out then at the time I push the shifter, 
I kick the gaz to ease the downshift.
At that time it stalled often. It's related to the way the ecu manages the
return to idle from "hight rev" without charge (clutched out or neutral).
