The price was for the inside and out coating/prep/return shipping.  I didn't count my shipping as I managed to get it for free, but it would have been about $15.  I got the very basic ceramic coating as the bodywork hides the pipe.  Still, it looked pretty attractive, and they have other, slightly higher priced, options if your header pipe is visible.
 
I don't believe it has much of an effect on the temperature gauge, except that the heat that used to build and radiate from the lower front and bottom of the exhaust is pretty much gone.  So in that the heat no longer retained under the body work doesn't assist the radiator in getting even hotter...
 
And if anyone wants to get this done, they sent me a coupon for something like $20 off my next coating.  Not sure if I can pass it on to the next customer, but I'm willing to try!

$163? Jeremy, I have an 06 and haven't had any real heat issues but the
gauge reads hotter than I'd like.  What did you spend the $163 on?  I live
in Connecticut and I'm planning a ride of 10 days through The Northeast
Kingdom, into Bethel, Me. through Mt. Washington, around Lake Winnapasaki
between July 20-30, any recommendations?
