Re: [ST] Engine Dying

Sounds like youre pretty close to joining the fold Paul.

Peter Stevens are the Australian importers for Triumph, hence the monopoly.

You will be hard pressed to find any dealer willing to give you a discount on
a new Triumph. They sell every bike that lands on our island, so its simply
supply and demand. They wont discount as they dont have to.

Usually dealers will give you a break on accessories you buy with the new
bike, but thats usually about it.

If youre looking at luggage for your new ST, consider that the boxes supplied
by the factory for the 05+ models are considered crap and a backward step by
many (me!) although some people do like them. Overall they are an odd shape
internally and difficult to fit much into. A full face helmet wont fit into the
side boxes, for example. I went with GIVI boxes and SW Motech metal work. This
is a popular addition.

Way back in 2000, I test rode a VFR800 and then rode a 99 ST. I bought the ST
on the spot. Yes it was more expensive, but I havent looked back since.

Cheers,
Brett.
