As others have noted Karl, this sounds just about right as compared to what I 
see.  As to your LED question, I'm not an EE nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn 
Express last night, it seems to me that if you used a 12v LED you could wire it 
in with the fan's positive lead off of the controlling relay and not have to 
worry about knocking down the voltage though I'm not sure about the current. 
Any EE's care to tackle?
