I do the same thing.  Not to save money, but to save the long drive to
the dealer.  Same thing for oil and filters.

Now I know that there are not any "Canadian Tire Stores" in the USA, let
alone Europe, however, I suspect that other auto parts stores carry
similar items at comparable savings.
 
And while I image not many will get too excited about crush washers, I
thought it would be of enough interest to pass along!
