Steven,Thanks for sharing this. I found it very interesting. Can you tell ushow much oil the engine was burning with 98K on it? What other noconsumables have you had to replace?Rupert

It really wasn't burning a noticable amount of oil. A friend did mention is did smell a bit of oil a few months back. But he forgot whether it was stronger under acceleration or decelleration.

The charging rotor failed after 1.5 years of use. Replaced under warranty. Had a throttle position sensor replaced under warrenty as well.

I replaced the front rotors around 45k miles because of warpage. They weren’t out of spec yet, but I could feel it. That was after the 2 year warranty had expired. I later had to replace those replacements because the EBC pads bonded to the EBC rotors after riding in a heavy rain, then parking it. The stock replacements are going well so far.

I replaced a suspect rectifier/regulator last year. The lights and tach/speedo needles were starting to get twitchy.

The rear shock was starting to sag around 30k miles. I nursed it to around 50k when I stumbled on a good deal for an Ohlins. Which probably needs a rebuild now too.

Just this year I replaced the original front wheel bearings. The rear was replaced under recall at 36k miles in the first 2 years of ownership
