Matt,

a) The garage isn't cold space in my house, it's under the house so it 
stays ~50.

b) Coyotes, bears, raccoons, etc, means putting it on the deck is not an 
option unless it's in something that can seal really well.

c) Didn't have a big enough cooler and decided to save what was in the 
freezer.
