[St] Lowering A Sprint ST Can, DONE

Kevin Liske emailed me off-list and said it was easy, just loosen the clamp between can's pipe and midpipe, remove the hanger bolt and turn the can down. Worked, too, but then can was hanging in mid-air. So, I selected a chrome bracket from a box of several I have, bent it back and forth in my bench vise, and after just a little time, had a perfect hanger entension.
I could make one up for anyone else if someone wants one. I have several of the same brackets, they are just the right size, holes are in the right place and they are chrome plated so won't rust. Chrome is not flaking off where I bent them, either. Easy to make, you could do it yourself, I admit- but if you want me to send you one, $5 should cover the bracket and shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 states. If you are eslewhere, email me and I will see if I can get one to you. I am not trying to make money here, just making sure I cover shipping cost.

With a little practice and forethought you can move the pipe, extra
bracket, and top rail bracket up or down in about twelve minutes max.
I do it all the time.
I like the look with the can angled up.
An open end wrench slips between the rail and rear plastic and your
cooking.
If anyone needs a digital picture of the small bracket ping me off list
and I'll send you sone.
Why do I have it?
Because I run my left bag only most of the time back and worth to work.
I lower the can and install the bracket about four times a year for longer
trips.
I once almost forgot which end was up. No. not that one!

Hey guys, please stop replying but post a new message and quote via copy
what your saying.
I know this will get me flamed but.....
When you rely those of us on the digest get your reply plus the whole
digest and all of it's messages again, and again, and again :-)

Jack I'm guessing it's only the people on the digest that need to
follow that advice.
Decent mail programs will allow you to reply after selecting the
section you want to reply to and I think that would also take care of
the problem.
New messages would break the thread.
Hopefully that was just a spark and not a whole flame.

Or you can just do what I do, and that's SNIP all the non-vital info out
of the reply before sending it. I like to at least include the info I'm
replying to (makes things flow a little better).

Jack, Another courtesy item is to not change the subject when
replying or use the same one wheb replying to the digest. That way,
we can follow the thread correctly, and it allows our mail tools to
organize the messages appropriately.
