Pfft. I wouldn't mind getting that per *imperial* gallon (4.5 litres)
Typically I get about 32mp(imp)g in city commuting. I've never got over 45
even on a long motorway ride.
I worked out the last time I filled up, it was costing me 0.20 euro a mile in
fuel... ouch. (That's about US$0.32. Fuel is e1.30 a litre, about US$2.20, or
over seven bucks a US gallon.)
Ideally I would have a more economical bike for commuting, but that involves
spending money, either hardly using the ST or selling it at a loss, and
making what's often the most fun part of my day less fun. As my commute is
short, I can live with the fuel usage. But for longer trips I'd appreciate a
much higher fuel range. I think the best I ever got from full (on side stand)
to fuel light was 150 or 160 miles. When commuting, it's 110. Servicing
(including new air filter) has made no difference.
