Russell, I have had GenMars on my 99 since March of 99 and love 'em.
It is true that the bikes past about 2000 don't need the replacement brake
line.
They are very simple to install but I recommend putting LocTite on the
small side set screws as mine loosened and made a clicking sound when
applying the front brake pushing the bike around.
