Re: [St] Hoping for a tiny miracle

I would be doing exactly that before I go buying other bits or swapping things around.

Put the bike on a stand, pull the front end off and get all the bits checked for "straightness".

You may as well get the forks checked again while its all apart. Any good bike shop or engineering place will be able to check if the triple clamps are bent. Remember one of those components only needs one millimeter of damage to throw things out quite a lot.

While the front wheel is in the air and before you pull anything off, I would also check the headstock bearings for any "notchyness" or evidence of abnormal wear etc.

HTH.

Brett.

I only have the means to check the fork tubes, which are in fine shape. The
triple tree "looks" fine, but I have no real way to verify with
measurements. Also pretty sure the frame would show signs of twisting, yes?

Can't you just take the front apart and double check the parts on a
reference surface?
Did you check the alignement of the frame itself?
