Re: [St] The Future of Motorcycling

Yes they did raise some interesting points. Motorcycling is being attacked from all sides. Some of it is because of the red diaper doper baby lawyers looking to make a buck any way they can and the masses realizing it any crying wolf just to hit the lottery along with the lawyers.

For all you lawyers on the list, it don't direct that attack on you personally. But the majority have gone crazy to make a buck giving a bad reputation to th elegal industry. Kinda like realtors. Theere are decent, honest ones, but the bad apples have ruined the reputation.

Now on the topic of greed. Bike Week in Daytona has both opponents and proponents. The proponents have gotten too greedy and the opponents have the crappy lawyers and local politicians on their side. Greed has raised prices too high, keeping more and more people away. Hotel rates are out of this world. Vendors off track charge alot and vendors on track have to charge alot because Daytona Speedway raises their vendor slot fees.

I've lived in FL since 1999 and go up for Bike Week every year. I've seen the prices of everything go thru the roof and it's more than just cost of living and diong business. It's GREED. I don't even go to the races anymore as a racer or spectator because ever since Daytona made the infield modifications their prices for motorcycles have at least tripled.

There are many factors to blame and the state of the economy and the low value of the USD are only one piece of the pie that affects more than just motorcycling. GREED is the biggest and the powers that run this country are selling us all down the eriver because of their own greed.

This is a very interesting piece. The author raises some very good points.
Is it time for the motorcycle industry as a whole to "come of age" if we really want to be taken seriously?

Brett.
