RE: Bike Du Jour - worth a few scratches

The 99 Triumph Sprint St is my first bike. I'm 41 and also took the
MSF course and was concerned that I got too much bike for a newbie.
While I am certainly glad I did not get the Triumph Trophy, the Sprint
is perfect. It rides "it self" my confidence increases everyday. I
still take corners a bit slower than most riders , but that OK with
me. The first few times I rode on the highway I said to myself - 60
mph is fast enough for me. With a month I was doing the occasional
100 mph. I think safety first and try to be always aware of the
traffic around me. By the way - I live and ride in NYC, NY. Oh and I
do have a few scratches on my fairing from a few dumps. When 500 lbs
is tilted at 0 speed it is going to drop, things that a more
experienced ride would know. If I had a used bike the scratches would
not have bothered me. But I would not have had the joy of riding a
Sprint. That to me is worth a few scratches.
