Dunno about the Triumph Screen working better. It sure looks uglier!

I had the choice of 2 different 2000 model ST's a couple of weeks ago. Both
September 1999 registrations and had been with the factory at Hinckley since
new. Bike 1 had 1000 miles on it, Standard screen and a Seat Cowl. Neat
looker. The other had 6000 miles, flip screen and factory luggage ( no top
box). The screen is dog ugly!

I bought the 1st one!!

Just out of interest, the screen is a dream compared to the protection
offered on the Trident Sprint which I traded for the ST. Whenever I turned
an looked over my right shoulder, my visor always flipped up with that one.
No such problems with the ST.

ST's. I love em. Just got to keep the seat cowl on so "The Boss" don't get
on! Thankfully she can't touch the deck on it, so sticks to her own Legend.

  Hi there ST Digest

My name is Burt Barrett, and I reside in Bakersfield, California. I am
the Proud Owner of a 99 Sprint ST, Big Red, with Pannier Bags, and Top Boot.
I bought it used from a small bike shop in Santa Barbara. It had seventy
eight miles on it. All the decals were intact and it was immaculate. I
bought it, with the bags and boot already installed for $95k, out the door.
My son (18) and I rode it home in the rain. He was in hog heaven.(we both
were I guess)
I have been riding motorcycles since 1958. Mostly Triumphs. I am a
Triumph man. I have ridden almost every other brand out there, and like
most all of them. But the Triumph Sprint ST is the BEST motorcycle I have
ever ridden! I love the Kenworth diesel sound she makes at idle.
Different. I am interested in a taller windscreen. Seems that at speed,
60/80 I feel a lift of my helmet, which is different than other bikes I have
ridden. WHAT is a Zero Gravity windscreen? Does the Triumph taller
windscreen work better?
By the way, I got radared the other day by the CHP, two separate officers,
in two locations. The first one got me at 80, and the second one got me at
78. Both matched my speedo reading. Interesting. I also have a 71 Triumph
Bonneville which I have restored(Bought one new in 71) and curiously the
speedo readings match, as do Big Red and my sons 71 BSA Lightning.
About OIL. Had Wilson's in Fresno change the oil at 600m. They refilled
with Motul, semi synthetic. Shouldn't it be the Triumph Mobil 1?

  Regards
  Burt
  Big Red
