Having had Scottoilers on three bikes before getting my ST, I have a
few comments:
1) Applying chain lube isn't as much of a hassle as I'd expected (thank
Triumph for the centre stand!)
2) But you do have to carry a can of chain lube for long trips, just
when luggage capacity is likely to be at a premium
3) And my side plates still have a light coating of rust
4) Chain lube from a can isn't fling-free
5) I'm told that Scottoilers can be "tuned" to give almost no fling,
but be prepared to spend a minute or two doing this before each ride,
and don't forget to turn it up a bit in the rain
6) If the warranty thing is cleared up, I'm going to get a Scottoiler
fitted at the next service!
7) Can I use WD40 in my Scottoiler? ;-)
