Another way is to take a dent puller, yank out the ignition lock, (one
quick pull) stick a screwdriver in the resulting hole and simply turn
the ignition on, which also unlocks the steering stem, and ride away. I
used to live in New York City, and got to see how this was done first
hand. Or a few weeks after, I should say, to a VFR I used to have. By
the way, Do not trust the seemingly wonderful Kryptonite cable locks.
They almost got through one on another try with nothing more than a dull
set of diagonal cutters or wire cutters. Got there as the last few
strands were being cut. Snip snip snip. I now use the 1/2" diameter
CobraLinks, fits under the seat and is virtually indestructible.
