yes - I started below the tabs are I wanted to retain them, but by the time
I was done the cuts were above the tabs.

Yes, it will stay (at least on the ST) but I have been trying to figure out
a way to hook it in the back to make it flush with the rear fairing. Right
now it sits up about the thickness of the plastic in the cowl.
