Mike,
I'd add just two things to the advice you've already received from the
list.
After you've adjusted the chain, rotate the wheel and check again for
a tight spot (you may not have one). The tight spot is more obvious
after adjustment and it's worth spending an additional minute or two
to avoid the type of damage a maladjusted chain can cause.
Always adjust the chain after cleaning and lubing. A lubed chain will
stretch slightly in comparison to a dry chain. I didn't believe this
until my dealer proved it to me. So if you adjust your chain on the
tight side of the specs keep it lubed or it will tighten up and may
cause damage.
