I have found that folding the correct number of bills, then folding this
over the clutch cable and clamping with one of those small black paper
clamps works extremely well for me. Just stop, pinch the clamp, hand the
wad to the attendant. No fussing with gloves, pockets, anything.
Course, be a bit harder to do with change :-)
