Factory Tours?

This has been discussed before, but shoot me.

I just bought tickets to London in mid-December, and I'm contemplating
the feasibility of a factory tour.  Can anyone give me a summary of
the details (when I can do this, etc?)  If I was going to go, what's
the best way to get there?  I'd rent a bike, but I doubt the weather
will be cooperative at that time of year.
