[ST] third eye curiosity

Last night I was doing some work on the RS and I noticed something odd.
There is a red LED mounted into the third eye headlight.  What is this for?
I am guessing it would work with the alarm, but since I don't have one, I
don't really know.  Any educated guesses out there?
