RE: [ST] The Good, Bad, & Ugly: ST Trip Notes (long, but I need the therapy)

Butch

It broke up near the lever end and the fraying was about 5mm back from the
lever end.

I fitted a Kawazaki cable which is a better cable and fits in perfectly only
have to straighten the elbow slightly

Interesting though i have a new triumph cable supplied to replace the frayed
one and it has marks in the same
position as where the origional broke and the second cable was frayed.
I guess that these are caused when the cable is manufactured by the clamp
that holds the cable when they mould the end stop on.
I will try and take some close up macro digital photos tonight if I can to
show you the marks.

oh yeah my bike is a 2001 model as well.

I hope things turn out all right for you

Regards

Rob

Rob:
My SO recently crashed her '00 ST and picked up her new '01 on Thursday
morning. I started lurking this list about Wednesday just to see what
you folks had to say.

This clutch cable thing really has me concerned. Her bike was in an
early
batch of assemblies as it's sat on the dealers floor since Feburary.
Where
exactly does the clutch cable break? On the second cable, where was the
fraying you mention?

TIA
