Ah correct you are sir, IIRC I still had tach when I lost my speedo/odo
due to magnet seizure.  

I also lost my turn signals that trip (an all day rain) but they return
the next morning.  I opened up the switch housing later, used contact
cleaner to clean things up then some nice dielectric grease to keep 'em
from getting wet again.  Haven't had a 12 hour rain to test in since
though :^{/

That trip had me thinging Triumph was still using Lucas electrics for
sure!
