Hi Blake,
It seems like LEDs have finally got to the point where they are a sensible
replacement for normal bulbs, but that doesn't mean that people aren't still
selling ones that are little brighter than a fairly small candle :-(
Definitely go for the red ones though, they are the most efficient. I think
a white LED is actually one red, one blue, and one green in a single
package. Your red lens then blocks all the light from the blue and green,
what a waste! Of course for maximum brightness your red lens does need to
be the same shade of red as the LEDs.
