I've been running a 17T for over a year now, and compared with the 19T
that was stock on my '00 ST, I really like it. It made all but the
tightest hairpins 2nd gear corners, and certainly made getting away
from a stop a lot easier on the clutch. However, I did notice a
significant decrease in mileage, from ~45 MPG to ~41 MPG.
This week I'm going to switch to an 18T sprocket. I hope that I get
some of the mileage back, while still enjoying relatively easy starts
and tight corners in second gear.
