RE: [ST] Fix Your Speedo

Richard,

Agreed, if you're going to keep the bike for its entire life you'll get no
gripe from me, but has there ever been a time when you were both the first
and last owner of a motorcycle? Me, I'd be pissed if my insurance company
decided to void a claim because I'd tampered with my odometer. And the
original poster's comment implied that having a lower-mileage trade in might
not be such a bad thing (not a quote, but a close enough approximation). To
me, that's a crappy thing to do, law or no law, unless you can prove that
you made the odometer more accurate, not less. I did not intend to start
any great debate on this subject but rather highlight the fact that saving 5
to 10% of my overall mileage, would to me, not be worth being charged with a
felony or whatever Johnny Law decided to do.

I could also care less if my speedometer is off by 5 or 10mph. I ride at
whatever speed is comfortable and safe, generally within the flow of
traffic. If that's 10mph over the speed limit, who cares, if it's slower on
that particular day, well, I should have left earlier.

Enough, y'all caught me on a crappy Monday - I apologize for the ranting.
