Mark, you sound a lot like me.  While I believe my experience
with the Sprint was atypical, based on the abundance of good
experience on this list, I too had too many problems with it to
stay with the marque. That's why I'm on a Blackbird now. It's
interesting you mention the oil usage on your friends bike, as
that's the straw that broke the camel's back in my case; with 35k
miles, it used more than a quart every 1000 miles, and had been
since the early 20k mile point, and that's just ridiculous.
