RE: [ST] HP Restrictions?

I'm next to positive there is no HP restriction in the U.S. The only place I've ever heard of such a thing was Germany, but I'm not even sure if that's true. 

The only restriction I've ever heard tell of is a "gentleman's" agreement between the big 4 japanese mfr's. After the advent of the 'busa, I heard they decided to police themselves on max SPEED of their top end bikes before some over-anxious (non-motorcycle-riding) consumer group or politician took it upon themselves to enforce a limit. 

At least that's how I heard it.
